An excited Mr Camilleri is looking forward to performing in Goulburn again after over a year. "While playing music for the audience, I tend to take people on a journey. At my upcoming performance, I will try to ensure that everyone has a great night and feel that bad times are behind us," he said.
After being unable to perform for months due to COVID-19, he sheds light on what the music industry is going through at the moment.
"Two years ago, I played to a crowd of 15,000 people during one of my performances. Recently, due to COVID-19 restrictions, I played to an audience of 72 people. It's a bit of a change. However, when you are playing to a lesser number of audience, you have a chance to interact with them. That's the way to go for me as I would like to share a lot of stories and songs I have written with them," he said.
"Music is part of everyone's DNA, it's soul cleansing and a healer. The song creates memories and that's what I have done with every performance since the COVID-19 restrictions have eased so people can have a good time. I have felt that the general public is being very supportive of the music industry."
Singer Joe Camilleri is no stranger to the city and has performed for the Australian Blues Music Festival back in 2006. He has also been inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame in 2007.
Mr Camilleri launched The Black Sorrows in 1984 and celebrated 50 years in the music business in 2014.
