Goulburn Mulwaree Council and the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) have advised caution after a herbicide spill near the Goulburn CBD.

A council spokesperson said the herbicide was spilled into a storm water drain close to the CBD which flowed downstream into the Mulwaree River.

The council recommended caution with pets from Blackshaw Road onward when walking along the Mulwaree River, and to keep dogs out of the water.
The spokesperson said at this stage they were taking an extremely cautious approach and did not believe there was any reason to be concerned.
The NSW EPA have undertaken water testing to ensure the Mulwaree River has not been significantly affected.
