The Festival of Place - Goulburn is a free event designed to activate public spaces, encouraging the community to re-emerge and engage.
The Festival came to fruition after Goulburn Mulwaree Council's Marketing and Events Team were successful in gaining a $10,000 grant from the NSW Government Department of Planning, Industry and Environment's 'The Festival of Place - Summer Fund'.
The Festival will see a sensational line-up of musical talent take to the stage at the Goulburn Recreational Area (note change from Belmore Park) from 10am-3pm.
Acts will include 19-Twenty, Megan and Mackenzie, Isy Cappo, DJ VERTEXiAL and Leaving Reality.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council's Events Officer, Angela Remington, said she is excited to be bringing events like this back to the community.
"Events within the region were certainly hit hard due to the pandemic, so we are pleased that we can now bring them back in a COVID-Safe way," Mrs Remington said.
"The Festival of Place - Goulburn will encourage and reassure the community that they can re-immerse themselves and enjoy our public spaces again.
'We've secured a great line-up of talent, along with a selection of free activities and workshops which will cater to the whole family."
Attendees wanting a relaxing day out can participate in Yoga and Art activities, whilst others looking for a bit more excitement can learn new skills with Karate, Free G and Circus activities. Drumming sessions, Games and more will also be on offer.
The Goulburn Mulwaree Library's Big Read Bus will be in attendance offering story time and an art activity. An online photo scavenger hunt throughout the CBD will also take place.
Those wanting to attend are encouraged to bring their own chair or picnic blanket. A COVID Safety Plan has been developed for the Festival which will require attendees to check-in via a QR code with the Service NSW App, abide by social distancing rules and ensure personal hygiene, along with a range of other measures.
Further details will be released on The Festival of Place - Goulburn Facebook event page. For more information on Goulburn, visit www.goulburnaustralia.com.au.
