The Goulburn Swap meet organised by the Rotary Club of Goulburn is in the early stages of planning.
This very popular annual event is back in 2021, delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions until Sunday, May 2. It will be held at the Goulburn Recreation Area on Braidwood Road.
"This will be the first major Swap Meet in NSW for over 12 months and the rules have changed with COVID-19," president Dick Kearins said.

"We have needed to make big changes to comply with NSW Government health orders. This includes changing to 'booked sites only' for any sellers. All stall holders' goods need to be on the Swap site on Saturday, May 1. Gates will be locked at 8pm and no stallholders will be admitted on Sunday. This allows the club to ensure that all sellers are in known locations to assist in contact tracing."
One of the event organisers, Graeme Neil, explained the booking system.
"All sellers must select, book and pay for sites using the online booking app Eventbrite, that has the facilities to handle big events such as our Swap. The Swap committee has been busy measuring up the Rec area into 4m x 4m sites to be booked through Eventbrite from March 15. There will be exclusive stallholder parking available and limited camping onsite," he said.
Rotary Club of Goulburn organisers Grant Pearce added that restrictions would also apply to all those entering the event, either as buyers or sellers.
All persons entering the Recreation area must use the QR code or provide name and phone details to the gate personnel both on Saturday and Sunday. Sanitising stations will be all around the area and social distancing rules will apply.
COVID-19 marshals will be on site to support the event operating in accordance with Public Health orders and NSW Police will ensure Rotary complies with their approved COVID Safe Plan current at the time of the Swap.
"All this will go to make sure that we are able continue to run this fantastic community event," Mr Pearce said.
