The Anzac Day in Crookwell kicked off at 5:40am as residents lined Goulburn Street to watch an early morning march. The march started at the Crookwell RSL Club and paraded up the street to Memorial Park where the Anzac Day dawn service was held.

A large crowd gathered for the service at 6am as the sky brightened at dawn. Key elements of the service included renditions of the British, New Zealand and Australian national anthems as well as the traditional two minutes silence. A list of Crookwell residents who had lost their lives in war was read aloud. The cold didn't seem to bother attendees as magpies joined in birdsong to the notes of The Last Post.
