Current restrictions for regional NSW include compulsory check ins with a QR code in all venues and workplaces, and masks to be worn in all indoor venues, excluding homes.
Fines of $200 apply for those not wearing a mask and $1000 for those breaking current restrictions. Businesses will be fined $10,000 if they are caught breaking restrictions.
People are also reminded to continue practising social distancing from one another and to continue to sanitise and wash their hands to stop the spread of germs.
Restrictions for regional NSW:
- Masks must be worn in all indoor areas, except your own home
- Only five guests, including children, can visit your home
- Dance and gym classes limited to 20 per class (with masks)
- Public transport limits as per the green dots
- Up to 200 people can gather in outdoor public places
- Outdoor seating events are limited to 50 per cent seated capacity
- One person per four square metres in all indoor and outdoor settings
- Drinking while standing at indoor venues is not allowed
- Singing and dancing is banned
- Weddings, funerals and religious services must have a COVID-19 safety plan

Employers must allow an employee to work from home if the employee is reasonably able to do so. If an employee is required to go into the office, masks must be worn.
Essential workers may travel through the regions however they must comply with the greater Sydney's stay at home orders. They are also required to get a Covid-19 test every seven days.
Stricter restrictions apply to workers from the Fairfield, Liverpool and Canterbury-Bankstown Local Government areas. Currently only authorised workers may leave the LGA and residents of Fairfield must get tested every three days.
Proof of a Covid-19 test such as an SMS text message or an email addressed to you is required and must be shown when asked by a police officer or at your workplace by your manager.
You do not need to get the results of your COVID-19 test before going to or staying at work.
Residents can enter greater Sydney if they are receiving a Covid-19 vaccination and won't be required to follow the stay at home rules if the following requirements are met.
They are:
- You travel to and return from Greater Sydney by a private vehicle (not public transport) using the most direct route that you can.
- You travel alone or only with another person (such as your partner or carer) who is in the same situation as you and
- resides outside Greater Sydney
- is travelling with you to get vaccinated.
- resides outside Greater Sydney
- is travelling with you to get vaccinated.
- resides outside Greater Sydney
- is travelling with you to get vaccinated.
- You do not stay overnight in greater Sydney (including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour).
- You leave Greater Sydney (including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour) as soon as you can after receiving your COVID-19 vaccine.
- You only go to the place where you are receiving your COVID-19 vaccine such as
- GP (doctor) premises
- NSW Health vaccination clinic.
