Artificial grass has also been laid up Auburn Street's median to 'green up' the city.
Now the council is applying to be part of a state government trial for the next phase of Goulburn CBD's beautification.

It is aiming to install two movable parklets at the front of Belmore park on Auburn Street, one in a 'cafe style' and the other a relaxed seating area with a built-in book library.
These would be lit for evening use, "attractive and colourful," a report to Tuesday night's council meeting states.
In addition, benches on powder coated metal grids could be installed at each of about 38 tree spaces in the main street.
A temporary wombat crossing from Market Street to Belmore Park is proposed for pedestrian safety.
Two pod seating structures with umbrellas and planted trees, a solar charging hub and power outlets could also be placed at the top of Belmore Park's stairs on Auburn Street.
It doesn't stop there. Russell Lane is proposed to be rejuvenated with a new 'tree theme' mural or extension of the existing one.
Less attractive elements like closed off doors could be spruced up with stickers, and the electricity box 'wrapped.' Seating pods between trees and fairy lights up the lane have also been suggested.
At Marulan, the council has proposed a parklet outside the town's hotel.
The organisation was invited to lodge an expression of interest to the state's Streets as Shared Spaces grant program. The initiative is designed to deliver trials that "test permanent changes and strengthen amenity, accessibility and economic viability of a high street area and its surrounds," general manager Warwick Bennett's report states.
It is focused on improving connectivity, social interaction, health and wellbeing and the CBD's vitality.
The council can apply for up to $500,000 for the infrastructure. Expressions of interest in the trial closed on November 11 and shortlisted candidates would be announced in December. They would have until February 11 to apply, with successful projects announced next March. Work could start in April and trials run from September 2022 to February 2023.
If Goulburn Mulwaree is selected as a trial site, Mr Bennett recommends the final project be submitted to the February 1 meeting next year.
Councillors will discuss the matter on Tuesday night.
In 2020, Upper Lachlan Shire Council was awarded $215,000 under the same program for art installations, street furniture, planter boxes, trees and temporary cafes in public spaces at Crookwell, Taralga and Laggan.
