
Goulburn Mulwaree Council on Tuesday night recognised the service of Cr Alfie Walker, Cr Denzil Sturgiss and Cr Sam Rowland, who are not standing for re-election at the poll set for December 4.
The three councillors were formally recognised for their community service, and presented with plaques as a keepsake.
"Alfie, Denzil and Sam have been wonderful advocates for our region, giving up countless hours in community service, and I would like to thank them on behalf of Goulburn Mulwaree Council" said general manager, Warwick Bennett.
Cr Denzil Sturgiss was first elected to Mulwaree Shire Council in 1999 and re-elected to Greater Argyle Council, later to become Goulburn Mulwaree Council in 2004. He was re-elected in 2008, 2012 and again in 2016. He served as a Councillor in this region for 22 years.
Cr Sam Rowland was first elected to Goulburn Mulwaree Council in 2012 and was re-elected again in 2016. He served as a councillor for Goulburn Mulwaree for nine years.
Cr Alfie Walker was first elected to Goulburn Mulwaree Council in 2012 and was re-elected again in 2016. Cr Walker served as deputy mayor from 2016 to 2018, and served as a councillor for nine years.
