
There is plenty to get up to in the Tablelands this week. Get into the Christmas spirit with some local markets, see plays by school students, or get your head stuck into some good reads.
Mighty Playwrights Program
- December 10-18, Lieder Theatre
Seven young playwrights will be showcasing their work this week in the Tablelands. Students have developed plays full of humour and wit with the help of mentors as part of the Goulburn Mulwaree Library's Mighty Playwrights program.
Attendees 16 years old or over must be fully vaccinated or have medical exemption and show proof upon entering.

Open Mic Night
- December 10, Goulburn Club, 7.30-10.30pm
Tablelanders have the chance to perform songs, poetry or even some comedy this weekend. Everyone is welcome to participate and acts will have 10 to 15 minutes to perform. There is a whiteboard when you enter, so write your name down and show everyone what you've got!
Jazz in the Courtyard
- December 11, Goulburn Club, 2-4.30pm
Enjoy some jazz in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere this weekend. It is a free event.
Goulburn Rotary Parkside Markets
- December 11, 3 Montague Street, Goulburn, 8.30am-1.30pm
Tablelanders can explore a market full of artisan producers, food, flowers, jewellery and so much more. All funds raised from the markets go towards projects for the Tablelands community.
Attendees must be double-vaccinated and show proof of vaccinations up entry.
Market in Tarago
- December 11, Tarago Community Hall, 2-7pm
Do some Christmas shopping with this twilight market. Local produce, arts and crafts, wine, antiques and more can be discovered.

Marulan Book Exchange
- December 11-12, 93 George Street, Marulan, 10am-2pm
Grab some new reads at St Stephen's Church with the monthly book exchange. Have you read a great book that you want others to read? Bring them along to trade!
Exhibition: Genevieve Swifte 'Blister'
- Until January 8, Goulburn Regional Gallery
Canberra based artist Genevieve Swifte's exhibition is full of portraits, still-life pictures and self-portraits which tell a story about trauma and intimacy. She works on a variety of mediums and explores her heritage and connection to Australia's landscape.

Kids Summer Reading Club
- Until January 28, Goulburn Mulwarree Library
Kids can grab a welcome pack and start reading over the summer holidays. Young readers can redeem Summer Reading Club coupons and log their books for the Summer Reading Club market next year.
Adult's Summer Reading Challenge
- Until January 31, Goulburn Mulwaree Library
Dive into some new reads with the library's reading challenge. You can be in the running to win vouchers from places like Lilac City Cinema, Shop 2580 and the Bookshop Bowral. Tablelanders need to complete a registration form at the library and will receive a goodie bag. The reading challenge has an around the world theme.

Goulburn Bustle
- Until January 28, Goulburn Regional Gallery, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 12-4 pm
The gallery's permanent exhibition will take over the gallery's main exhibition space with new acquisitions, hidden gems and favourites from previous showcases.
The collection has been curated by the gallery's team, and is the last exhibition of the year.
