The funding from the Saluting Their Service program's latest round is aimed at preserving Australia's wartime history and remembering servicemen and women from wars, conflicts and peacetime operations.
A council spokesman confirmed the funding would go towards repointing weathering brickwork and mortar on the honour roll's western aspect. If left to deteriorate it would weaken further.
A stonemason is being engaged to do the work.

The Honour Roll was constructed in 2002, and was a joint project of the Goulburn RSL branch and the then Goulburn City Council. It was financed by public donation and a grant from the Department of Veterans' Affairs. The council designed, constructed and financed the flag court.
Hume MP Angus Taylor said the commemorative project would continue the tradition of remembrance, and he looked forward to seeing the finished work.
"I am so proud of the history of service in Goulburn, and this project is a wonderful way for us to commemorate and reflect on the sacrifice of all those who have served from our community," Mr Taylor said.
The funding is part of the government's $32 million investment in Veterans' Affairs grant programs this year.
The next round of the Saluting Their Service program is open, and applications can be submitted until February 8, 2022.
