This was the dilemma faced by the members of the Goulburn Oasis Club (old Apexians) when they made the decision to close due to ageing membership and the younger generation's "reluctance" to commit to community service though organisations like theirs.
"It was a difficult decision," club member Allan Denny said.
"But we had little alternative so we began the search for a worthy cause. I saw some publicity in the paper that mentioned Movies under the Stars organised by BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc and realised this was the right place for us to contribute our final funds."
Another Oasis Club member, Warwick Dawson, said everyone needed access to a well-equipped hospital, no matter their age.
"We are pleased to help purchase the patient information and entertainment system for which BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc has been raising funds," he said.

A cheque for $1600 was presented to a delighted Nerida Cullen, President of BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc.
"It has been difficult to raise funds over the last two years, so donations such as this really add to our motivation and reinforces our commitment to improve patient experiences in Goulburn Base Hospital. We are more than grateful," she said.
