Following an arduous selection trial, where some 60 women put their hands up as candidates for the Brumbies side, coach Tony Doherty announced a squad of 30. Kara was among them. This requires her to commit to training and travel as part of her Brumbies program.
Brumbies Senior Development manager Damien Tyson said, “Any support that can be provided to assist her along the way is greatly appreciated.
“Ash has been identified as a player of national interest and her attendance at training and matches will be paramount in ensuring she has ample opportunity for higher honours.”
The squad is preparing for the Brisbane Global 10’s and inaugural Super W domestic competition.
Brumbies Women’s Squad rugby training is from 6am to 7.30am and 5.45pm to 7.30pm on Mondays and Thursdays, 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesdays (club training), and Saturdays from 11am to 1pm. The Brumbies women play a trial against the Rebels on February 17 before the first competition game on March 17 against the Western Reds.
