This will be the second time the 14-year-old has competed in the Junior World Championships, and according to his mother, Michelle Kingsford, he is just as excited this time around.
"He's very excited about it," Michelle said.
"It's an awesome opportunity for him to get his name out over there. He's really excited and he's been working hard for it."
Joining Ryder on the trip will be Kayden Minear and Ky Woods in the 65cc category, Cambell Williams in the 85cc division, and Alex Larwood and Blake Fox in the 125cc class.
Ryder will join Cambell in the 85cc division, which is restricted to riders between the ages of 12 and 14. Applications for the team opened in March, and he was selected by Motocross Australia on the basis of his recent form and past results.
The opportunity to compete in Russia means more to the youngster than just a chance to take home a medal. Ryder also wants to start building connections and getting his name out in Europe, where he hopes to race someday.
"He basically wants to get himself known while he's over there, he wants to get his name out," Michelle said.
"Because eventually he does want to race in Europe as a professional when he gets older."
That being said, Ryder still has high hopes for his campaign.
"He obviously would like to ultimately win it, if not get a podium," Michelle said.
"In general, he just wants to do the best he can."
Ryder's younger brother, Kayd, is also an excellent motocross competitor, and was unfortunate to miss out on selection for the Australian contingent to Russia.
Despite missing out, Michelle said that Kayd's response to Ryder's selection was one of unwavering support.
"He's always behind [Ryder], that's for sure," Michelle said.
"He's really excited for him ... it was awesome actually."
The 2019 Junior World Motocross Championships will take place in Moscow this July.
