Alyssa, aged 15 and Jordan, aged 17 received $500 in total and their father Glen Gregory was thankful for Goulburn Mulwaree Council's program.
"I think it's an outstanding program that's been put together to support kids who are working towards achieving goals in sport," Mr Gregory said.
"Families spend considerable amounts of money to get their kids to training and then to representative trials, so any funds received is very helpful."
The two have plenty of other sporting commitments, especially Jordan.
"Both of them have got more events they are going to within the next 12 months," Mr Gregory said.
"Jordan's looking at going to the national touch league competition soon.
"He's involved in cricket, basketball and touch at the moment and also plays soccer in the winter too.
"When he goes to the national competition, the money will get chewed up pretty quickly.
The siblings referee in the local basketball and touch competitions but were players first before turning their attention to refereeing as well.
"Our family believes that when you're involved as a player, you have to be able to put back to your sport," Mr Gregory said.
"Whether you put that back as a coach or a referee, it is up to the individual.
"We encouraged our kids to take up refereeing so they'd not only have a better understanding of the game, but understand what it's like to do a job under pressure.
"They need to make good decisions and communicate better as there's outstanding leadership opportunities.
"It is also about managing people as they are important life skills."
The Ray Harvey Sports Foundation is chaired by councillor Margaret O'Neill who said "sport is more important than ever in the lives of young people today".
"It's great to see our local kids achieving at high levels.
"It teaches kids how to be a part of a team, or how to focus their energy into a positive outlet."
The next round of funding will be round two of the 2019/20 financial year.
