Two consecutive low results have been recorded and Water NSW has lowered the alert level from amber to no alert. Community members are now able to undertake activities as normal including the use of watercraft along with fishing and other water based activities.
All blue green algae signage has been removed from the dam, and Goulburn Mulwaree Council staff will continue to monitor for further blooms of algae in order to maintain safety.
Goulburn's usable water storage currently sits at 94.7 per cent. Pejar Dam is located downstream of the former junction of Pejar Creek and the Wollondilly River. It is approximately twenty seven kilometres northwest of Goulburn. Pejar Dam has a current capacity of 9000ML.
A Goulburn Mulwaree Council spokesperson said they will continue to regularly monitor the levels of algae at Pejar Dam and will advise the community if the situation changes.
