Significant damage to roads and infrastructure around the region has occurred following flooding over the weekend.

A total of 130 millimetres of rain was recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology for Goulburn, with totals of over 200 millimetres reported in some areas around the region.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council staff have now completed assessment of the damage around the area with standouts being footpath damage on Park Road, pavement damage on Brayton Road, exposed stormwater pipes on

Bungonia Road and significant mess and wash away at the site of the new May Street Bridge, which is currently under construction.
Pavement sheets also broke away on the Oallen Ford Bridge, however this section of road had been repaired by Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council by Tuesday afternoon.
Reduced speed limits of 60km/h is in place at this section of Oallen Ford Road, around the bridge.
"Thankyou must go to our local SES unit and the staff of Council who worked to close roads, keep residents safe and to provide timely information to the community" said Mayor Bob Kirk.
"We have unfortunately again had significant road and infrastructure damage occur, but we will never say no to the rain. With these floods much of the damage has been in the south and east parts of our LGA; as we always do, we will be putting in a claim for disaster assistance funding for this repair work."
Drivers are encouraged to drive with caution on rural roads as there are areas that have been damaged and are now in poor condition.
Fortunately much of our infrastructure network has come through relatively unscathed, with assets such as the Wollondilly River Walkway in reasonable condition.
No solar lighting was damaged, and no significant repairs to pavement are required, however the full clean-up of this area including some handrail replacement, and other rural roads is expected to take many weeks.
