The good news is that while the rainfall is expected, flooding is unlikely to be an issue and temperatures won't drop down drastically making the weather very cold.
Helen Reid, meteorologist at the Bureau of Meteorology, said that showers are expected throughout the weekend.

"We are mindful of the river catchments in the southeast where they had some flooding last weekend. But, it is not likely to be a problem on this occasion," she said.
"It will be a bit of a wet weekend but it isn't expected to be very cold."
Goulburn is expected to receive around 5mm of rainfall today, about 4mm tomorrow, and 0.2mm on Sunday.
"Today, we are expecting rainfall further north. On Saturday, it would be more of a south coast feature. So, Goulburn is on the edge of it on both days," Miss Reid said.
No weather warning has been issued for Goulburn at this stage.
Goulburn SES is also not expecting wild weather like last weekend.
A total of 130 millimetres of rain was recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology for Goulburn, with totals of over 200 millimetres reported in some areas.
Meanwhile, similar weather conditions are expected for Southern Highlands as well.
"Southern Highlands might get a little less rainfall than Goulburn. They are not expecting anything in terms of flooding either," she added.
A maximum of 16 degrees is expected today with high chances of rain late this afternoon and evening in Bowral.
On Saturday, August 15, showers are expected with a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 14 and six degrees respectively.
The weather is expected to be mostly sunny on Sunday.
