That's just the number of entities offering one or more services in some part of the very broad health sector. There are a great many health therapists and dedicated specialists who are either based in Goulburn or visit one of these facilities on a scheduled basis, even if it's once per week or per fortnight.
The great thing about that is, it not only means we're attracting more services all the time, it also means those people are bringing their knowledge and experience with them too for whatever therapy or specialty treatment they have decided to focus their career on.
The hospital's upgrades are progressing as planned as well. It's homepage says that this $150 million state government project "will deliver a fit-for-purpose facility that will continue to deliver high-quality healthcare for the Goulburn region into the future."
It also explains that this project is being completed in stages and should be up and running at full capacity late this year.
The highlight of the development will be the new four-storey clinical services building. This will benefit from a new main entry and hospital reception as well as a new emergency department, a new medical imaging department, a new intensive care unit, new operating theatres, a day surgery, recovery and pre-admission areas, new medical, surgical, paediatric and geriatric inpatient wards with specific designated palliative care beds, and a new maternity and birthing suite to bring more local little citizens into the world.
