Firefighters battle house blaze in Gunning
The RFS was called to the blaze in an unoccupied house at 10 Saxby Lane, a short distance from the main street, at about 6pm Tuesday.
The timber-clad home was well alight when Gunning, Oolong and Merrill brigades arrived, RFS Southern Tablelands operations officer Luke Amor said. NSW Fire and Rescue also attended.
Goulburn remembers former Mulwaree Shire president, Laurie Sadlier
Mr Sadlier passed away at a Scarborough, Queensland aged care facility on August 16, aged ninety-four.
The former Taralga man served on the old Mulwaree Shire Council, now part of Goulburn Mulwaree, from 1977 to 1991. He was president (equivalent of mayor) from 1981 to 83, 1986 to 1989 and in 1991.
Jerrara Power to withdraw Bungonia proposal after NSW Government announcement
The $600 million Jerrara Power waste to energy proposal in Bungonia will not go ahead. The news came after changes to the Energy from Waste Infrastructure Plan were announced by the NSW Government this morning.
The project, pegged for 974 Jerrara Road, was proposed in April to process up to 330,000 tonnes of mainly Sydney waste per year and generate some 30 megawatts of power.
Six Goulburn teams take home CRRL minor premierships
Six Goulburn teams have been named minor premiers by Canberra Region Rugby League, following the premature cancellation of the remainder of the 2021 season.
Netball was also called off in August as the lockdown caused havoc with local sport.
Goulburn's Kingsdale Winery wins medal in Australian Vineyard Show
Kingsdale Wines has been awarded bronze at the 2021 Australian Single Vineyard Wine Show with its 2019 Autumn Harvest variety.
The bronze was secured with a score of 88 in the very competitive class of White, Sweet - Table Wine (Non Botrytised) any vintage.
