A combined total of 159 COVID cases have been recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm last night (January 4) in four local government areas (LGAs) in the Southern Tablelands.

Forty-five cases have been detected in the Goulburn Mulwaree LGA, 74 in the Queanbeyan Palerang, 23 in the Yass Valley and 17 in the Upper Lachlan.
All four LGAs have had an increase in cases since yesterday.
The Southern NSW Local Health District provided the breakdown of recent cases on Wednesday morning.
There are currently 1445 active cases across the district.
Up to 8pm Tuesday night in the last four weeks, 257 cases have been recorded in the Goulburn Mulwaree LGA, 192 in the Yass Valley LGA, 540 in the Queanbeyan Palerang LGA and 63 in the Upper Lachlan LGA.

More than 95 per cent of residents in the four local government areas have had their first and second doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Meantime, Capital Pathology Goulburn Regional manager Mark Cummins said staff had tested 426 people at the Bourke Street drive-through on Tuesday, 168 at Marulan Truckstop, 162 in Yass township and 207 at Yass Truckstop. In addition, 382 aged care facility residents and staff were tested.
Three Goulburn aged care facilities - Warrigal, Masonic Village and Waminda - have reported a low number of cases in the past week. Some of these are asymptomatic.
"It's (testing demand) been pretty horrendous since Christmas," Mr Cummins said.
"We've only had Christmas day and New Year's day off. Most of the staff haven't had a break."
The provider accepted people who had travelled from Sydney and Canberra for tests, due to excessive waiting times in those cities.
The surge had pushed out waiting times for results from 24 to 40 hours but Mr Cummins said his lab was keeping pace with histopathology.
Capital Pathology has seconded staff from Yass and Marulan and employed additional collectors at Goulburn to cope.
Wednesday's cases across NSW have jumped from 23,131 on January 4 to 35,054, and eight deaths have also been recorded.
A total of 1491 people were recorded to be in hospital, and 119 in intensive care.
Vaccination rates statewide remain unchanged with 93.6 per cent of the population over the age of 16 being double vaccinated, and 95 per cent only having one vaccine dose.
A total of 81.4 per cent of residents between the ages of 12 and 15 have had one COVID-19 vaccination and 78 per cent have had two vaccines.
In the 24 hours to 8pm last night, 108,844 COVID tests were conducted across NSW.
