The Indigo Foundation are a small but highly effective international community development organisation, which work closely with communities to find innovative ways to help them address their particular challenges.
The fundraiser was organised by the "Goulburn Gals Galavanting for Good". The group is made up of four friends from Bannister, Marulan, Middle Arm and Kingsdale.
Michael from Pigment107 subsidised the fundraising event and was a warm host who encouraged and inspired everyone to make their very own replica of the famous Van Gogh painting.
Michael has a philosophy of wanting to make art accessible to everyone, and to give people the opportunity to create art themselves to discover the joy and creativity that it brings.
The event was sponsored by Stonehurst Wines in the Hunter Valley who managed to send out wine before their vineyard flooded during the recent severe weather.
Lucy Linder from Linder Socks in Crookwell attended the event.
"It was so much fun to lose yourself in a little creativity and chat," she said.
Along with the paint and sip fundraiser, "Goulburn Gals Galavanting for Good" has been hosting other events to raise enough money to spend five days walking part of the Larapinta Trail, near Alice Springs, in June.
All funds raised by groups participating in the walk will go towards the Indigo Foundation.
In Rwanda, the Indigo Foundation are supporting Club Rafiki, who use hip hop dance classes and performances as a means to educate young people about sexual and reproductive health.
In Bougainville, they support the Hako Women's Collective to provide a safe space for women and children escaping domestic and family violence. They also work to educate these same women and children so they can escape the cycle of poverty that often contributes to their traumatic home life.
In India, they are working with women from the "Untouchable" and "Tribal" casts to help them find a pathway out of their entrenched cycle of poverty and oppression through basic education as well as education on human rights.
