Two community preschool services in the Goulburn electorate will benefit from new professional development opportunities for early childhood educatos.
Boorowa Early Education Centre and Goulburn Preschool were successful in applications for Professional Development Grants for 2017-2018.
Member for Goulburn Pru Goward sad it is “vital that early childhood educators can develop their professional skills.”
“Educational investment comes with a high return in early childhood education, preparing children for school, through the development of their social, emotional and cognitive skills which benefits them in their later school years and beyond,” Ms Goward said.
Ms Goward said the grants are structured to ensure the investment goes where it’ needed most to maximize the benefit for children.
Priority for the grants was given to rural and remote services, services with a high proportion of enrollment of children from disadvantaged backgrounds and those offering opportunities contributing towards teacher accreditation.
