“This is a great opportunity for us to make a contribution that will benefit all members of the community, rather than individuals as is usually the case for Convoy for Kids,” president of Goulburn Convoy for Kids, Bryan Webb said.
“We have been generously supported by the community to date and this donation is a very public way of sharing that generosity with the community.”
The money will go towards a maze, sensory play objects and a merry go-round catered for children in wheelchairs.
The opening will begin at 10am on May 5, a day Goulburn Mulwaree Council mayor Bob Kirk hoped will be accepted widely by the community.
“We will start the day with a ribbon cutting and a few photos before letting the kids loose on the amazing new playground,” he said.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony there will be a free community BBQ and face painting until 12pm.
The council thanked the assistance of Convoy for Kids, the federal government and the NSW government for assisting in the development of the facility for the region.
Convoy for Kids will hold their next fundraiser, a golf day, on April 29 at the Goulburn Golf Club at 11am.
- Bookings for the fundraiser can be made at the Goulburn Club Pro Shop.
