Ian Poyitt and his family celebrated his 80th birthday by having lunch at the Hibernian Hotel Goulburn on Saturday, September 8.

Many members of his family were in attendance for the celebration
These included: his wife Lyn, daughter Nicky her husband Andrew, as well as their daughter Kelly and her husband David.
As well as this there was Ian’s daughter Jacqueline, her husband Liam with their two teenage children Ronan and Ayla.
Ian’s other daughter Shelley was also in attendance with her partner Terri.
Ian's late brother’s grandson Josiah and Ian's long time friend of 75 years Ian Nance were also in attendance.
My Poyitt said family members came from Sydney and the ACT.
“I was also given a puppy, who doesn’t eat, bark or require veterinary attention,” Mr Poyitt joked.
“The puppy’s name is Ohbee – meaning over bloody 80.”
Mr Poyitt was formerly of Sydney, Gosford, Canberra and Temora and has been in Goulburn for the last 10 years. He was a former member of the RAAF Active Reserve.
He was a bank manager for the Bank of NSW, now called Westpac. His banking service was mainly in Sydney, Gosford and Canberra.
He is also a member of the Order of Constantine, and has been for the past 39 years.
“My RAAF Reserve service took me all around Australia and New Guinea for Malaysia, the Middle East, UK and USA. I have been a member of the Air Force Association since 1963 and is a member of the Goulburn RSL.
