A Coles spokesperson said the team at the centre was "doing a great job dealing with the increased stock volume stores have needed to meet unprecedented customer demand".
They said the Goulburn Coles store currently received up to five deliveries per day from four different distribution centres, including chilled products, fresh produce and dry groceries.
Measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 have also been put in place at the distribution centre.
"Coles has taken a number of steps to ensure the safety and health of our team members. We have reinforced the importance of hygiene practices in line with government recommendations including installing additional hand sanitisers for all team members and increasing the frequency of cleaning of bathrooms, kitchens and communal areas," the spokesperson said.
"We have also closed visitation for meetings to all third-party visitors at our distribution centres until further notice. Health and Safety Representatives have also been marshalling key areas both inside and outside the centre when needed to manage increased truck movements and we have been providing daily updates to our teams to keep them as informed as possible."
Despite the increase in demand "there has been no decision made regarding a closure date for the Goulburn distribution centre."
Coles announced in October, 2018 that the local centre would close, along with DCs at Smeaton Grange, Eastern Creek and two in Queensland by 2023. The centre was purchased by Melbourne-based Pelligra Group earlier this month.
