Today I went for a bushwalk from Bungonia National Park down to Bungonia Creek. Along the way I saw signs at almost every property opposing an incinerator plant. I have frequented Bungonia National Park multiple times but today was the first time I saw these signs. After a beautiful day of bushwalking, enjoying nature's gifts in such a wonderful part of Australia I thought to look into this incinerator business and across the Goulburn Post coverage. I am absolutely horrified. I am horrified for the residents, and for the health and wellbeing of the ecosystems that support so much life and beauty within Bungonia National Park. I have seen rock wallabies, wallaroos, dozens of birds, wombats. The waters flowing into the Shoalhaven River look pristine, the air so crisp. You can see the care and love people have put into their properties in and around Bungonia. I am deeply saddened that plans like this come together without any consideration for the conservation of nature's wonders or for the people who hope to live a happy and healthy lifestyle in the country. Wakefield Park decision a missed opportunity
It's such a shame that the council has decided to reduce the days and noise levels for Wakefield Park. There is a huge marketing opportunity missed, that now only Sydney Motorsport Park can capitalise on, for the Greater Sydney Basin and NSW. Business and property values in Goulburn will suffer in the long term for two reasons. Firstly, motorsport enthusiasts will not be able to meet the suggested noise levels and their patronage will reduce over time. The dB scale is logarithmic and the numbers suggested by council is simply unrealistic. It is clear they had no sort professional advice on the reduction values. Secondly, reducing the number of days also means a corresponding reduction in demand for accommodation, food etc. Motels, Airbnb, bakeries, restaurants will all feel the reduction in days, starting from January 1, 2022. Goulburn's distance from Sydney means that most motorsport enthusiasts need accommodation when participating. The Council have NOT acted for the people of Goulburn, just the vocal minority. I'd be very surprised if they are re-elected.

Maybe it would be easier to relocate the complainants, than fight the people of the whole area and beyond who use this sporting facility?
