As it turns out, more than 46 per cent of people over the age of 15 in the Capital Region, which includes Goulburn, Yass, Queanbeyan, Crookwell, and Braidwood, have rolled up their sleeves to get their first jab.
Of that 46 per cent, 17 per cent of residents are now fully vaccinated.
According to new data released by the federal government, residents across the Southern Tablelands are in the top six regions in the state that have received the vaccine and follows behind North Sydney and Hornsby, Southern Highlands and South Coast, Sutherland, Northern Beachers, and Baulkham Hills and Hawkesbury.
The data did not show the average age of people in an area or the supply rates of vaccines which may have caused rankings to skew in favour of areas with a higher percentage of people who had been eligible for the vaccination.
Across the state, NSW recorded 262 cases of Covid-19 and more than 106,000 people were tested for Covid-19 as of August 4, 8 pm.
According to NSW Health, more than 13,600 people received their first dose of the vaccine and a further 11,577 people across the state received their second dose. The data did not show which vaccine was used.
In total, more than 1.5 million people have been vaccinated across NSW since February 2021.
Current advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation dated July 24 states that anyone over the age of 18 should strongly consider getting vaccinated with any available vaccine including COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca.
"ATAGI reaffirms our previous advice that in a large outbreak, the benefits of the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca are greater than the risk of rare side effects for all age groups," the statement read.
"People considering vaccination should be informed of the benefits and risks and give informed consent.
"People who receive COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca should be aware of the symptoms of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS), and when to seek prompt medical attention. Early detection of TTS means that people can get treatment and this can improve their outcomes."
There are more than 100 NSW vaccination clinics and outreach locations across the state. Check your eligibility at https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility or speak to your GP to explore your options.
