The Country Education Foundation of Goulburn and District (CEFGD) offers annual grants to help school leavers pursue further studies, vocations or apprenticeships. In the 19 years of its existence, the Foundation has granted well over $400,000 to the region's youth.
Chairman Guy Milson said applications for the current round were due to close on January 16 but had been extended to January 27.
"We have quite a number so far but the more the merrier," he said.
Interviews will be conducted online by a panel from that date.
The Foundation offers recurrent funding and provides mentors to guide students through their studies and pursuits. Rather than cash grants, it reimburses students for pre-agreed expenses or pays the provider directly.

Over the years it has helped hundreds of students from the region.
"We receive the money from our generous benefactors and sponsors and distribute it in the form of grants to school leavers pursuing their dreams," Mr Milson said.
Goulburn Mulwaree and Upper Lachlan Shire Councils also financially support the foundation.
Applications can be made via the CEFGD's website at https://cef.org.au/foundations/goulburn/ or through its Facebook page.
The successful applicants will be announced in February.
