A truck caught on fire on Medway Road in Marulan on Tuesday at 3.23pm. The fire was caused by an airbag dropping onto one of the tyres.

The driver put out the fire with an extinguisher, but part of the truck was still smoldering when the first Rural Fire Service response vehicle arrived.
Two fire trucks were called to the incident, which occurred in the southbound lane of the Hume Highway near the BP Petrol Station.
The whole thing was purely accidental and probably due to a mechanical error.

The RFS vehicles monitored the area for a while and left after being satisfied the scene was safe.
“The whole thing was purely accidental and probably due to a mechanical error,” said Daniel Osborne, operational officer with the RFS Southern Tablelands Zone. There were no road closures.
Family escapes injury
Emergency services were also called to a motor vehicle crash on the Hume Highway on Saturday, November 10.
Police said a family of four was travelling in the RAV 4 when it lost control in the southbound lane, five kilometres south of Goulburn’s southern exit, at 11.30am.
No one was injured, but an adult was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital as a precaution.
Highway traffic was not affected by the crash.
