Rubyvale in the beautiful village of Laggan is hosting an open day to share a herd encounter that will fill all who experience it with wonder and delight by spending time with the horses in the serenity of the country side.
Spending time in the presence of horses has been shown to increase in self-awareness, reduce anxiety, identify personal strengths, develop life skills, self-confidence, behaviour regulation, problem solving and reframe and shift perspective about ourselves and the world around us.
Gaining an understanding of how horses communicate beyond words and the importance of body language is a valuable insight into the behaviour we may unconsciously be displaying towards others.
Horses respond to the immediacy of your intent and your behaviour and do so without assumption or criticism.
Engagement on such a level can be extraordinarily powerful for many people, both young and old.
Horses are stronger and bigger than people. Their size demands respect which can be intimidating for some.
Safety around these animals requires some level of attentiveness. People become immediately more watchful, even if feigning indifference.
The day begins with light refreshments and the Crooked Corner band playing old favourites, followed by Liberty natural horsemanship demonstrations and what horses teaching human’s offers individuals and groups.
Lunch will be a barbecue provided by the Lions Hearing Dogs for $2.
No dogs please.
