Event organiser Meg Kelly said that the PCYC was excited to host a competition of this scale.
"We put our hand up a few months ago, because there's not usually competitions in this area, they're usually all in Sydney," Kelly said.
"So we said 'why not have one here?' so people don't have to travel as far, and everyone was very excited for it."
Teams will travel from Yass, Picton, Moss Vale, and the Southern Highlands to take part in the event.
Kelly said that hosting the event was a step forward for the club, which hopes to host more such competitions in the future.
"We always have to travel, we'd like to have some more local ones to get some more rural towns in rather than have to travel four hours just to get to the competition," she said.
The event will have divisions for competitors of all ages and skill levels, and Kelly said that "any kid at any level can participate."
"There's novice, intermediate, advanced [divisions]," she said.
"Kids that are just starting gymnastics can do the competition, and kids that have been doing it for years can also do the competition, and they can be in the same team if they really want to. And they all get to show off individually.
"It's a broad range of skills and all the kids can try something."
The Goulburn team will feature 21 kids, split into two teams: one novice and one intermediate. Sunday's event will be the first for many of the kids competing in the novice group.
"We've got a few kids who have never done it before, so they're very excited and a little bit nervous," Kelly said.
"I'm very excited for them to do it as well, they seem pretty cool about it. We've got some people in that team that are just beginning and some that have been doing it for a while.
"The second team, the senior one, which is an intermediate team, that's our older group who have been doing it a while longer.
"Some of the kids in that team are starting in beginner coaching as well."
The day will begin with the novice divisions from 9.45am on Sunday, and continue until the first break at 1pm.
This will be followed by the senior divisions from 1.15pm until the conclusion of the competition at 4.30pm.
Having the seniors follow the juniors, Kelly said, will provide the youngsters with an opportunity to relax and enjoy the skills on display.
"They're really showing off what they can do, and the little kids love watching them," she said.
