However the community consultation we received was the TransGrid representatives telling us what they will be doing, sympathetic noises from them, taking no notice of any input from us, even threatening a neighbour with the police when they were refused access, and walking away feeling they had done their duty.
It was a laughable parody of how the process should be run.
We no longer believe anything they tell us and will strongly fight to have the power lines put underground, which in a modern First World country is where they should all go.
The visual pollution was not counted in their plan, nor was the devaluation of the properties the lines will pass through or their neighbours who will get no compensation.
It is our losses to pay for the cities gains and TransGrid tells us this is progress.
It is walking backwards into the 1960's.
It is quite wrong to assume they are telling us the truth when they claim it is 10 times the cost too. This is not what the engineers tell us. Modern technology has lowered the price and updated the methods used in undergrounding and it is used all over the world to keep the ugly and dangerous powerlines out of sight.
I hope they see reason and fall in with what most people would see as a proper solution to a difficult problem.

Support for MRI machine
As a past and probably future utiliser of an MRI machine I would support such a facility in Goulburn. It would save driving to Canberra or Bowral.

Beautification of CBD
Whom ever came up with the proposal (for 'movable parklets') has two problems.
1) Have you ever been on Auburn Street in the winter?
The wind is freezing and an open shelter is not an inviting place to sit.
2) The proposal has NOTHING to do with the heritage aspect of the street.
The council is always promoting our "heritage buildings" but is constantly destroying it. Allowing the Quest building is just an example.
