Join local ceramicist Penny Saxton over three Wednesday evenings to create fascinating and functional porcelain spoons.
Saxton will introduce you to a wide range of clay making techniques both traditional and contemporary.
The lessons will include using a slip and mould, creating handles from found materials, and enhancing the spoon’s surface texture through the use of colours, glaze and printing.
Over the three weeks, you will complete one spoon or a small set of spoons.
You must be available to attend class each week.
The dates are June 21 and 28, and July 5, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The cost is $120 per person, which includes all materials and firing. Please ensure you wear appropriate enclosed footwear and an apron if desired.
- To book, call Sally O’Neill, Goulburn Regional Art Gallery education officer on 4823 4442. Bookings are essential and confirmed with payment only, by 4pm, June 16.
