A little brighter than their uniforms to mark the end of the week. It became a popular thing and now the Granger’s drivers are wearing them while making deliveries.
“Our customers were starting to ask why the drivers and other staff were dressed in the brightly coloured shirts,” manager Peter Granger said. “After some discussion between us we decided to make it a regular Friday fundraiser and call it Friday Funday for Farmers.
“Now we are raising money for the farmers who are doing it tough.
“No one wants to admit things are tough, and farmers are some of the proudest people in Australia. But sometimes they need our help, especially before it’s too late.
“Aussie Helpers stays in touch with 100s of farming families to ensure their well being and survival through good and bad times. So I contacted Aussie Helpers.
“We are putting on a barbecue lunch for our employees and they are making a donation for Aussie Helpers.
“Our staff have suggested too that we should challenge other business to join in and raise money too.
“So if you see a business in Hawaiian Shirts make a mention of them and donate to Aussie Helpers via there Web site www.aussiehelpers.org.au and put in the reference FridayFunday that way we can all see how much the area can generate.”
