GDNA president, Buddy Ahearn, expressed his excitement for the event, saying that “it’s always a fun night.”
“It’s great, I’m in the middle of writing all the questions at the moment so I’ve still got all that to do.
“[It’s] a bit of a laugh and a great way to raise the funds.”
This will be the second year that the fundraiser has been held, after it was started last year as a way to cover the expenses for the various carnivals and championships that the players look to attend.
“Raising funds for our rep girls, so they can attend carnivals and state championships and the like,” Ahearn said.
“[The State Age Championships are] an annual event usually in July. They have different divisions which we can apply for the girls to go in.
“It’s basically the pinnacle of their year’s work. They play club games and carnivals around NSW and it’s basically the highest level they can go.”
It costs each player around $600 to compete in the championships, and Ahearn said that it wouldn’t be possible without the support of the community.
Tickets are $10 per person, and may be purchased through the Goulburn Workers Club. The evening will begin at 6:30pm.
