Veteran Women's Two-Day Golf Tournament
The Goulburn Golf Club will be hosting a Veteran Women's Golf Tournament over two days. A single stableford will be held on the first day and a 4BBB on the second. Additionally stableford competitions will be open to visitors and their partners on Monday May 28 and Thursday May 31. Bell Tower Tours
On Saturday June 2, take an interactive tour and learn about the history of the bells at St Saviour's Cathedral on Bourke Street The splendid bell-tower, soaring windows and massive stone work are the first impressions one has of St Saviour's. Built around the old St Saviour's Church from 1874 to 1884, St Saviour's Cathedral is one of the finest white sandstone cathedrals in the Southern Hemisphere. Both the Cathedral and Hall were designed by one of Australia's most famous architects, Edmund T. Blacket. The tower was built and bells installed as per the original design in 1988 as a bicentennial project. In 2006 the final three bells were installed, giving Goulburn the only 12 bell and flat 6th country peal in the Southern Hemisphere. Tours at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Admission: by donation. Emma Pask
On Saturday June 2 at 7.30pm (till 9.30pm), award-winning Australian vocalist Emma Pask has firmly established herself as one of this countries favourite voices in jazz. Her effortless honest stage presence combined with her powerful vocal ability, leaves audiences spellbound and inspired. Emma is sure to delight as she interweaves storytelling through timeless swinging jazz standards, upbeat Latin rhythms, tender ballads and of course some raucous blues. By request Emma performed at the wedding of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban and she had the honour of singing for Diana, the late Princess of Wales. She has sung in London at The Queen Elizabeth Hall with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, toured her band throughout Europe. Emma has performed in China with The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Auckland with the NZ Philharmonic, and with the WA Symphony Orchestra in Perth. Emma played support for American music legend George Benson on his Australian tour, and with Latin Superstar Ricky Martin singing her praises, you won't want to miss her live. Historic Waterworks Open & Steaming
On Sunday June 3, come and see Goulburn's original 1883 steam beam engine used to supply the city's water. Open 10am to 3pm; and while visiting, take a tour of the Pumphouse Museum and historic Waterworks; see the 130 year old Appleby Beam Engine and Hick Hargreaves Corliss Valve Engine under steam; enjoy lunch, morning or afternoon tea at the Pumphouse Cafe; or bring your own for a picnic by the river; and play at the children's playground. Unearthing Riversdale - Finding History
Until Sunday, May 27 at Riversdale, built near the land chosen by Governor Macquarie in 1820 as the township of Goulburn Plains, an historic National Trust property. The Unearthing Riversdale exhibition features items from the diverse past of the 1830s property; a unique opportunity to see artefacts from the pioneering days of Goulburn. Armistice: The End of the War to End All Wars
The Remembrance Museum, part of the grounds of Mulwaree High School on McDermott Drive, contains militaria from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts right back to the New Zealand Maori War, fought in the mid-19th century. Open Saturday and Sunday at the Memorial Hall on George Street, 10am to 4pm every weekend.
