The ensemble of 23 young people is a delight to see.
The play features two stories, set in the Scottish Highlands. One is about an orphaned clan heir, who is saved by a kitchen maid, Mary Gow. She escapes an uprising to take the child to the safety of her brother’s house. All the while she is pursued by the usurper’s evil men.
The second story is about the elevation of ‘Mac’ MacGregor, a village clerk who is promoted to the position of judge to dispense justice. The two stories tie in together nicely at the end.
This is a chance to see some of the up and coming acting talent in the city.
It has been directed by Jock McLean.
The Circle of Chalk is on Friday, July 20 at 7.30pm; Saturday, July 21 at 2pm and 7.30pm and Sunday, July 22 at 2pm.
