The news comes after Goulburn successfully hosted the Australian Indoor Hockey Festival in January this year.
The Festival will run from Friday January 4 to Saturday January 26 in 2019, across Under 13, Under 15, Under 18, Under 21 and Open divisions.
This year will see the introduction of a Masters’ division to be held from Friday December 14 to Sunday December 16, which will provide a selection opportunity for the inaugural Indoor Masters World Cup in early 2019.
HA has partnered with Destination NSW and the Goulburn Mulwaree Council for the Festival, which will be played at Veolia Arena, with more than 100 teams expected to compete this year across the six divisions.
Hockey Australia CEO Matt Favier said: “We’re thrilled to have Goulburn host the 2019 Australian Indoor Hockey Festival once again, having done an outstanding job in 2018.
“We also thank Destination NSW for their support as we move into the fourth year of our five-year agreement to play the Festival in the state.
“The Festival has grown with the addition of the Masters and we’re expecting an increase in competing teams, which is extremely pleasing as the Indoor Hockey community comes together nationally.
“Australia’s Indoor Hockey teams competed incredibly well at the World Cup in Berlin earlier this year, recording best-ever finishes, which shows the growth of our game is in a healthy state.”
Goulburn Mulwaree Council mayor Bob Kirk said he is looking forward to welcoming the Australian Indoor Hockey Festival to the region again in 2019.
“Goulburn Mulwaree and the surrounding region has a proud history with the sport of Hockey, being strongly represented at the representative level right up to the Kookaburra and Hockeyroo level,” Cr Kirk said.
“We believe in the sport of Hockey and the benefits this event is able to bring to our region, with the Festival of Indoor Hockey this year bringing over $1m in economic benefits to our City and the wider region.”
The Festival will include: the Under 13s division, January 4-7; Under 15s, January 8-12; Under 18s, January 13-17; Under 21s, January 18-22; and the Open division, January 23-26.
