In keeping with the ‘Flower Power’ theme there were lots of hippies and flower children (?) and a great time was had by all. As some of the ladies entered the Goulburn Soldiers Club, a comment was made that “perhaps a busload of hippies from Nimbin had arrived!”
We remembered Dorothy Wane who passed away recently; she was a member of View for quite a number of years. We also remembered other members who are no longer with us.
We didn’t have a guest speaker but we had great background music from ABBA.
The winners of the raffles were: Margaret Todkill (2), Hope Sykes, Helen Carne, Pat Delaney, Dawn Carey (2), Delma Nelson, Kerry Taylor, Joan Scott (2), Colleen Bopping, Gloria Porter and Barbara Creese.
We had a wonderful array of azaleas for lucky door prize winners and they were Pat Delaney, Dot McCabe, Margaret Thompson, Colleen Bopping, Brenda Writer and Sandra Holmes.
Our last social outing was to the Lilac City Cinema to see Mamma Mia Again, which was thoroughly enjoyed by those who attended.
Our next social outing will be to St Joseph’s Gate on Taralga Road on September 27 for afternoon tea.
Our next luncheon meeting will be on October 4.
Please contact Margaret Gooch (02) 4822 1859 or 0409 904 917 if you wish to attend either of these functions. New members are welcome.
