A new road sign installed by Goulburn Mulwaree Council on Wednesday October 10 commemorates Mick Studdert, a long-time resident and life member of the Towrang Brigade. Seventeen people attended the sign’s installation, including five family members. Attendees went on to a delightful morning tea provided by Andrew and Debbie Studdert at Danganelly Nursery.

Xmas Party
A combined event of the Hall Trust, Bushfire Brigade and Progress Group, the Towrang Community Christmas Party will be held at the Towrang Hall on Saturday December 8 from 4.30pm. Bring your own drinks and nibbles. Sausages, steakettes and salads will be provided. If you would like to bring along a slice or cake to share, that would be very much appreciated. Santa will drop by to see the children with lots of fun and laughter for the start of the Christmas season. We will also be holding a raffle and chocolate wheel and would really appreciate suitable donations of items for the table and hamper. These can be left at the hall at any time or at the fire station on a Tuesday night.
‘Oktoberfest’
The Towrang 'Tavern' this month will be held on Friday October 26 and the theme is Oktoberfest. A dinner of bratwurst, sauerkraut and schwartzbrot will be served at a cost of $5 per head, plus $2 to the Hall Trust for electricity and gas costs. There might even be apfelstrudel for dessert. RSVP essential to Susan Pearson:
- email susanpearson@live.com or text 0409 500 166
Please bring along European beers (or your favourite) to share.
Stockade
The Towrang Stockade and surrounds has outstanding significance as a rare, partially intact convict site unaffected by development. It reflects the culmination of Governor Darling's systematic identification of roadwork as a form of secondary punishment. For further information, see towrang.org
