Come along, bring your picnic blankets and refreshments and join us for a sausage sizzle picnic at the Towrang Park in the centre of the village. Lots of singing, laughing and catching up with friends, old and new.
There’s plenty of room for the kids to run, play on the swings or create their own Christmas activity. We would love to see familiar faces, and, even better, some new ones.
The first church service for 2019 will be held on February 24 at 1pm.
New Year’s Eve 'Tavern'
The Towrang Hall Trust will be opening the doors of the hall on Monday, December 31 from 6.30pm for anyone in the area who is at a loose end for the evening - BYOE.
The barbecue will be available as well as the oven. We do have a small amount of steakettes and sausages which will be on sale for $2.50. Proceeds to the Christmas fund. Bring along any visitors who may be at your house as well - the more the merrier.
The tavern has proven to be a popular social outlet, hosting functions such as Christmas in July.
Christmas party update
Fifty-three adults and 23 children had a great time at the annual Towrang Christmas Party held on Saturday, December 8. The hall was bursting at the seams.
Sausages, steak and salad were on offer with some fabulous donated home baked slices for dessert. The jumping castle and face painting were enjoyed by the children while they waited for Santa to make an appearance.
As special visitors, four Japanese boys doing a farm-stay visit in the area came along to the Christmas party and had a wonderful time.
Thank you to everyone who came along, donated food and bought raffle tickets. Also thank you to Santa for taking time out of his busy schedule and Cherry for her artistic talent with the face painting.
See you all next year - book the date now, December 14, 2019, the second Saturday.
Brigade News
There will be no general meeting in January, the next meeting will be February 8, 2019.
Training sessions (pumping, driving, first aid, etc) are being organised for the coming months, hopefully every second weekend, to keep our skills current. The first session will be water hydraulics on Sunday, January 13 from 9.30am at the station. Lunch and morning tea will be provided.
To be up to date with what's happening with our brigade and local area as well as our zone, find us on Facebook and click the 'like' button - Towrang Rural Fire Brigade and NSW RFS Southern Tablelands Zone.
We are always looking for new members. Anyone interested can contact us via email - towrangbrigade@gmail.com - and we will send you the application form for completion.
This does take a few weeks for all the security checks to be completed, so the faster you get your form in to us, the sooner we can get you into the next basic firefighting course.
Hall bookings
The Towrang Hall is available for hire at very reasonable rates. We have two bookings already for the new year.
