Goulburn Show Society has partnered with online charity GIVIT to distribute their fundraising donation of $12,000.
GIVIT’s ACT manager Caroline Odgers congratulated the Goulburn Show Society and the supporters on the fundraising to relieve some of the drought pressure on local farming families.
“The incredibly generous donation of $12,000 will provide vouchers for stock feed. All money will be spent within the local Goulburn community,’’ Ms. Odgers said.
“Vouchers will be distributed as a matter of urgency via local charities registered with GIVIT to provide urgent support to farming families doing it tough in the Goulburn Mulwaree Council area.’’
The Goulburn Show Society held several fundraisers, including barbecues at the local community markets, Bunnings barbecue and a charity bike ride in support of drought relief.
Goulburn Dog and Kennel Club has also donated bags of dog food for farm dogs, which winning competitors had donated back after their annual dog show. The competitors decided that they wanted to support the farmers, by relieving some of the financial burden of providing some of the feed for their working dogs.
The Goulburn Show Society would particularly like to acknowledge and thank the Windellama Progress Association for their major and very generous donation to this fund.
Goulburn Show appreciates the locals getting behind their fundraising to help other locals in need and can’t believe their generosity.
GIVIT works with 2,300 charities, community groups and schools across Australia and 170 in the Capital Region to connect those who have with those who need, in a private and safe way.
Charities, not-for-profit and community organisations register free with GIVIT to request what is needed most by their clients. If you are a charity in the district not already registered with GIVIT for support, contact act@givit.org.au
