Defining a 'social plan' can be difficult, but our goal with this strategy and action plan is all around creating a community that is inclusive for all ages, abilities, incomes and backgrounds. I already believe this is a resilient region that can bounce back from unfortunate events and difficult times, but through this strategy we hope to identify service gaps and build an even more resilient community.
Consultation has now begun, and we are offering a number of opportunities to provide feedback into this document:
You can complete an online survey at Your Say Goulburn (https://yoursay.goulburn.nsw.gov.au) prior to June 14.
Hard copy surveys are also available at the Goulburn Mulwaree Civic Centre (184 Bourke Street, Goulburn).
Three community workshops are also being held, with RSVP links on the Your Say Goulburn Page.
Goulburn - June 11: 7pm - 8:30pm at Goulburn Mulwaree Council, 184 Bourke Street.
Tarago - June 12: 6pm - 7:30pm at the Tarago Hall
Marulan - June 13: 6pm - 7:30pm at the Marulan Community Hall.
Naming of Pavilion
At our meeting held on May 21 we called for recommendations from the community for the naming of the new Seiffert Oval Pavilion. The recommended name should reflect a person that has contributed significantly to sport in the Goulburn Mulwaree area to any other name that the community are of the opinion should be used to reflect the importance of the new pavilion.
Submissions are to be made in writing, addressed to the general manager and should have the heading: 'Seiffert Oval Pavilion Naming.' They may be emailed to council@goulburn.nsw.gov.au or posted to Locked Bag 22, Goulburn, NSW, 2580. Submissions close at 5pm on June 20, 2019.
Walkway Unveiling
On Tuesday I had the honour of unveiling the plaque for the Wendell Rosewarne Walkway, which is fittingly located in Victoria Park beginning on Faithful Street. This was a place Wendell walked nearly every day as part of his daily route around town.
Wendell Rosewarne was a great ambassador for Goulburn and the region. He rode his red 'postie' bike thousands of kilometres raising money for numerous charities, was a torch bearer for the 2000 Olympics and played over 400 AFL games for the Goulburn Swans. His contributions to the Goulburn community were immense, and I am pleased his impact will be appropriately remembered through the Wendell Rosewarne Walkway.
