The community representatives are available to consult with the community on matters of health.
Kay spoke about the role of this committee, which is to provide the people of Goulburn and surrounding environs with a direct link to the Southern NSW Local Health District Board.
The community representatives are available to consult with the community on all matters of health and well-being of concern to you and your family. They can assist you in finding services either local or away.
Kay explained that she and the consultation committee are also involved with the planning of the Goulburn Hospital upgrade.
Kay is also on a committee that deals with planning, designing and delivering the upgrade, due for completion in 2022. They are currently up to the Interior Design Strategy.
The committee have had good consultation with hospital staff and other local groups, including the indigenous community and are trying to link history, bringing the old into the new hospital using local and historical concepts.
Kay explained with the interior design strategy, the aim is to help patients and families feel welcome, relaxed and to reduce stress associated with admissions.
They are also aiming to make it easier for the community to find their way around the hospital easily. Native local flora is planned to be used in design, and the committee is keen for any suggestions on local native medicinal plants. The committee may be contacted on 1800 662 176.
Next month our guest speaker will be Heather Caulfield. The topic includes WIRES and local bats. Margaret Wilkes won flower of the month with her pink and white cyclamen.
After a very interesting presentation from Debbie Hunt earlier in the year, the club has organised a day trip to Perrumba Farm, her sustainable farm in Bungonia on October 22.
