Construction is set to ramp up in the coming weeks on the Goulburn Hospital upgrade, and as a result of this we are implementing new parking provisions which will be in place throughout the project. The changes are being implemented following extensive consultation with the community as well as staff at the hospital and Goulburn High School and residents in the area. Ultimately our goal is to ensure residents can access their homes, staff can get to work and the community can get to the hospital if needed.

Signage has begun to be put up, and permits will be distributed to households, and staff of the hospital and high school in the coming weeks. The parking permit scheme has now come into effect, however no fines will be issued throughout an introductory period until November 14.
Permits are also being issued to Goulburn Base Hospital for emergencies - it will be up to the discretion of the hospital when these are handed out, but in a serious emergency these will be available to avoid any parking fines.
The permit allows you to park within designated zones for longer than the signposted time limit. It does not allow you to park in other parking restricted zones such as "No Stopping," "No Parking," "Bus," "Loading," or "Disabled Parking."

Organic Waste Changes
We are still receiving some questions regarding the organic waste bins so I just wanted to touch on this issue again to ensure everyone understands why the changes have been made.
New green organic waste bins were supplied to all residents within the waste collection zone through the EPA Waste Less Recycle More program; this was fully funded by that program.
There are numerous issues with using resident-owned bins, due to poor quality bins with damage, which is why everyone received a new bin. This is also why we are now only collecting the new bins.
There are numerous people offering to purchase or pick up old bins, including for use on rural properties - please make the effort to redistribute these where possible!
Council is also calling on residents to do the right thing with your waste - we need to keep all contamination out of the green waste bins in order for us to be able to compost. A reminder that compostable bags are available for free at the Civic Centre (184 Bourke Street) during business hours.
Goulburn Hockey
At Tuesday night's meeting, council discussed a report on the future of Goulburn Hockey, and a late item being an email from the CEO of the Goulburn Workers Club.
Council accepted an offer to negotiate the potential purchase of the current hockey facility at the Workers Arena at Finlay Road, with myself and general manager Warwick Bennett to undertake negotiations. All negotiations shall be without prejudice and the final decision will need to be made by the full council.
