The event first moved to Goulburn in 2018, after a brief foray into Yass in 2017 and having began for the 17 years prior to that in Lithgow.
Event director, Ross Warner, hailed the 2018 Alpine Classic as "the best ever".
"At this stage, we're really happy with Goulburn," Warner said.
"The people in Goulburn and the council have been great supporters of the event. They've been really supportive and helped us, and not all councils are.
"At this stage, I'm thinking Goulburn for the foreseeable future."
In 2018, 76 competitors took to the roads in Goulburn, and this year the number is almost exactly the same, with 77.
"We've got entries from Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, and the ACT," Warner said.
"So we've got pretty much the eastern seaboard covered. No Tasmanians, though."
Though Warner's comment about Tasmania was made in jest, he is confident that the consistent success of the event and the positive feedback they receive from competitors will draw entrants from further away in future editions.
"We're getting some great feedback from people and we're getting people bringing their friends," he said.
"Overall, we're happy with the entry numbers and the publicity we're getting."
The Alpine Classic has been described by Warner as a scavenger hunt in cars. Contestants will travel in their own classic cars across 470km of terrain between Goulburn and Wagga Wagga.
With several different levels of competition available, entrants can enjoy the drive casually or drive competitively (while following the posted speed limits).
The event will begin at 8.30am on Saturday, October 19 in Goulburn with an overnight stop in Wagga Wagga, with dinner to be held at the Boat Club.
The event will start again on Sunday morning and return to Goulburn, where competitors will converge at the Goulburn Golf Club.
Entries for the event are closed, for more information, visit The Alpine Classic on Facebook.
