This is also the time of year that many people focus on friends and family, spending time with loved ones creating memories and being together.
It's a time to celebrate the year that was, remember the success (and learn from the mistakes), and wind down for the long, hot summer.
If you are looking for a way to bring your people together, there are a number of community events dotted around the Southern Tablelands Arts region.
In Goulburn, Pictures and Popcorn returns to Belmore Park on December 7 with a screening of 'Elf'.
Also the Goulburn Show Reel at the Goulburn Club on December 12, showing a number of locally made short films.
If you feel like traveling a little, the Wollondilly Shire Council is showing 'The Grinch', on December 13.
Or for a fun, family-friendly Christmas party head to the Goulburn PCYC on December 18 for some Christmas fun with the kids.
