The event is Goulburn's very own free music festival aimed at young people.
It commences at 4pm with a range of free workshops focused on singing, song writing and drumming/jam sessions, along with a parkour workshop being run by the PCYC.
We have a number of brilliant local artists taking the stage throughout the afternoon including local DJ Amy James, the Rich Pitcher and M Funk.
Our 2020 headline act is Mitch Tambo, who came to fame throughout Australia's got Talent in 2019.
Mitch will be performing some amazing arrangements of his own music and covers in his local indigenous dialect.
Water update
As I sat down to write this column I consulted a number of weather forecasts to get an update on the coming days, and it seems we are in for anywhere between 25-60mm of rain over the coming week, which would be brilliant.
Of course we are all aware that the forecasts have not always delivered outcomes over the past few months, but let's hope this one is right!
Rain is just what we need for our water storages, but more importantly for our rural residents who have low tanks and dams, and little feed for livestock.
At present in Goulburn we have 58 per cent usable water storage, and we are on amber level water restrictions.
Residents have responded well to restrictions and the vast majority of households are conserving water and doing the right thing; thank you.
We do continue to irrigate at a number of Council sites including Belmore Park, Carr Confoy, along with Seiffert and Prell Ovals.
Maintaining these facilities ensures that the community can safely continue to participate in sport activities throughout drought conditions, and we will continue to maintain these facilities for as long as possible.
Council staff are monitoring usage and storage levels each day, and we don't expect we will need to make a decision on moving to the next level of water restrictions until March.
This is obviously dependent on rainfall, so here's hoping for plenty of it over the coming weeks, starting this weekend!
Indoor Pool open
The indoor pool at the Goulburn Aquatic and Leisure Centre has now reopened, as of Wednesday morning this week.
Staff worked around the clock to get the pool operational this week, which is great timing with the school swimming carnival season kicking off in February!
Public swimming will now be available in the indoor pool during carnivals and swim club nights.
Learn to swim classes have now resumed, and places are still available. Please see staff at the Aquatic Centre or call them on 4823 4834 to enrol.
