My Health Record is your health information that can be accessed securely online from anywhere, any time.
You can access this information from any computer or device that connects to the Internet, and you can easily take your information with you when you visit a new health provider or move house.
In an emergency situation your health information such as on allergies, medical conditions, and current medications can be accessed using your My Health Record, even if you're unable to communicate.
Taking control and making the best use of your My Health Record can be an important part of managing your health, whether you're fit and healthy or have ongoing health issues.
This session takes you through how My Health Record works, as well as managing how your information is shared, updating information, and managing your privacy and security settings.
You can choose which information is shared with healthcare providers, get notified when your record is accessed, and add your own notes to make sure your My Health Record is working the way you want it to.
The talk will begin at 1pm on Monday, January 11.
The session is free, but bookings are essential and can be made online at https://www.trybooking.com/BMYPP, in person at the library, or by calling on (02) 4823 4435.
