The Goulburn High School student, who recently represented the South Coast at the Combined High School Basketball Championships, said passion for the sport has been passed down through her family for decades.
"My family is a basketball family. We've loved it for [a long time] and it's been through generations," she said.
The 17-year-old played a key role in the South Coast side as it finished third in Pool B during the CHS competition, which spanned from Tuesday, May 4, to Wednesday, May 6, in Maitland.
With three wins and one loss, South Coast finished just behind the unbeaten Hunter team and qualified for finals.
After a loss to Sydney North in the semi-finals, South Coast played Sydney West in the third-place playoff and won handily, 81-61, to claim the bronze medal.
Chelsea earned her place in the South Coast team through the zone trials in Bomaderry earlier this year.
The CHS competition was just the latest in a long list of representative honours for Chelsea, who has represented Goulburn in the past and even played for NSW.
The youngster does not have any concrete plans for the rest of her season, and intends to simply enjoy the rest of the Goulburn season.
"[Basketball is] something I'm good at, I enjoy playing and I'll just keep enjoying it and play locally for Goulburn," Chelsea said.
